Help us reach our goal of 2010 members by the year 2010. Indiana ASCD invites you to become a member of our vibrant and diverse organization. Indiana ASCD members work together to build capacity and community among learners, teachers, and leaders dedicated to the success of all learners by advocating for educational excellence and equity.
The organization has been an affiliate of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) since 1945 – one of the first affiliates in the nation. Membership in ASCD and its affiliates is separate. You may belong to ASCD; you may belong to an affiliate; or you may belong to both. But if you are an ASCD member, you are not automatically a member of your local affiliate. We would love for you to become a part of the Indiana ASCD network of dedicated educators.
Several join to enjoy substantial discounts to Indiana ASCD sponsored and co-sponsored events. Many join to access valuable professional information via the Indiana ASCD website, the Indiana ASCD Report, our journal that is published three times per year, and Indiana ASCD e-NEWS, our electronic newsletter published twice per month. Others choose to join in order to become a part of a community of dedicated educators like themselves. A growing number choose to become involved in the leadership necessary to influence education in Indiana.
Like ASCD, Indiana ASCD is beginning to engage in the necessary work of advocating for solutions to educational issues that are grounded in quality, objective research. We choose to advocate for the educational issues consistent with ASCD beliefs and values. And the benefits of joining Indiana ASCD continue to grow. Additional benefits will be added to the website in the upcoming year. Plans are underway to offer an opportunity that only an ASCD affiliate can offer: professional development sessions with authors of ASCD published books. Of course, only members of Indiana ASCD will benefit from substantial discounts to these events and full access to all on-line resources.
